TNT Vacations
Trans National Travel (TNT) was established by Steve Belkin in 1974 to develop and market travel products for affinity groups and offered its products nationwide in 1975. By 1980, the company had grown to 50 employees and was generating $35,000,000 in sales and had begun to market its various products through travel agents. TNT continued to grow during the 80s and by 1990 had grown to $60,000,000 in sales. With the deregulation of the airlines and changing needs of the marketplace, TNT phased out most of its travel affinity marketing. TNT's new focus was the sale (exclusively through travel agents) of individual charter vacation packages out of Boston.
In 1991, TNT acquired The Haley Corporation and began to sell vacations to Bermuda nationwide, in addition to the Caribbean and Mexico out of Boston. TNT added Pittsburgh as a new charter gateway in 1992. In 1995, TNT Vacations began also selling vacation packages nationwide to Costa Rica and Europe (using scheduled-air carriers). In 1999, we added a scheduled-air program to the Caribbean and Mexico allowing year-round Caribbean availability and flexibility from anywhere in the US. All these scheduled-air products (Bermuda, Costa Rica, the Caribbean, Mexico, and Europe) are sold nationally through travel agents.
Trans National Travel changed its name and identity in 1995 to TNT Vacations. TNT Vacations is a subsidiary of Trans National Group Services.
